Residents of the Upper Peninsula will have the opportunity to explore and experience the beauty of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore from the Pictured Rocks Cruise boats — free!
Pictured Rocks Cruises, Inc. is declaring Saturday, June 9 as the first-ever “Yoopers-Ride-Free Day”. Cruise manager John Madigan of Munising said he wants to offer the free rides because “even though we are surrounded by the beauty of the Upper Peninsula, we don’t always have time to really see our environmental treasures up close. This is an opportunity for U.P. residents to experience the breathtaking, unforgettable views of the Pictured Rocks shoreline.”
Weather-permitting, cruises will depart from Munising City Pier on Saturday, June 9 at 12 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis on June 9. Each person mush present a form of Upper Peninsula identification to redeem a ticket. A child must be accompanied by a parent in the ticket office to receive a ticket.
